There’s something exciting about hearing your child sit down at the piano and play a song they’ve been eager to learn. Along the way, lessons give them opportunities to develop independence, resilience, and patience with themselves.

I want your child to love playing the piano. Learning their favorite songs helps make that happen. Along the way, I teach them to read music, understand chord charts, and play by ear so they can explore more of the music they enjoy.
They can figure it out!
Sometimes one small thing makes a whole song feel difficult. I watch your child play, help them understand what’s causing the difficulty, and work through it with them step by step. Then we put the music back together, and they get to hear what their effort accomplished.
They’ll know how to practice at home!
We practice together during the lesson so your child knows how to work at home. I show them what to focus on, have them try it themselves, and check that they understand before moving on.
Wait, they can play that already?!
I developed my beginner curriculum to help students understand music and make progress quickly. They learn familiar songs while discovering how keyboard patterns, notes, and chords fit together.
That understanding helps them learn new music more easily as they advance. They’re building on what they already know each time they learn something new.
And yes, it works!

Hi! I'm Grace.
I've taught piano for 18 years and worked with hundreds of students, some of whom have gone on to careers in music.
I've performed at weddings, church services, and concerts, including an appearance as a featured soloist with the Black Swamp Community Orchestra. I've also accompanied the orchestra and served as a church pianist and accompanist for more than 14 years.
I want your child to enjoy coming to lessons and feel capable when they sit down to play. I notice when they’re ready for a bigger challenge, when they need a different explanation, and when they’ve improved enough that we should stop and appreciate it. I continue studying how children learn and what helps them stay motivated, and use that knowledge in everyday lessons.

Weekly Lessons
45 minutes each week, with individual instruction and guided practice to develop your child’s playing.
And help between lessons, too!
If your child is unsure about something at home, they can ask questions or send a practice video for additional guidance. Lesson assignments and feedback are available in the studio app.
Books & Recitals
Books and studio recitals are included. Your child can explore their favorite music and share what they’ve learned with family and friends.
Month-to-month enrollment. Tuition is averaged across the year into equal monthly payments.
Can’t get enough piano? There’s more!
For students who are always asking what they can learn next, there’s the Leadership Program! Longer lessons give them more time to work toward ambitious musical goals, with opportunities to lead and mentor other students.
Students may apply or be invited to join.

Is this a good fit for beginners?
Yes! Absolutely. Drawing on 18 years of teaching, I’ve developed a beginner curriculum that gives students a strong start and helps them progress quickly. They learn familiar songs while discovering how keyboard patterns, notes, and chords fit together. That understanding carries into more advanced music, helping them learn new pieces more easily as they move through future levels.
What if my child already plays?
I’ll find out what your child can do, what they enjoy, and what they’d like to learn next. Lessons can strengthen reading and technique, help with difficult passages, and build toward more demanding music as they’re ready.
What do lessons look like?
During each 45-minute lesson, students work at their own pace with individual instruction and feedback.
What happens after I request a trial?
I’ll text you with available free trial lesson options. We’ll talk about your child’s interests and experience, and find a time to try a lesson.
Where is the studio?
Grace’s Piano Studio is in the Blackhawk area of northeast Fort Wayne, Indiana, near the intersection of Maplecrest Road and East State Boulevard.
What if practice is a struggle?
We’ll talk about what’s getting in the way and choose something practical to try. Your child may need a smaller task, a clearer explanation, a favorite song to begin with, or a routine that fits your family. I follow up to see what helped.
What support is available between lessons?
Students can send practice videos for additional guidance. The studio app keeps assignments, questions, and practice challenges in one place.
